Overview
Implement Google Ads Enhanced Conversions to improve conversion measurement accuracy and unlock better bidding strategies.
Prerequisites
- Google Ads account with admin access
- CustomerLabs account with tracking installed
- Website with conversion tracking already set up
Step 1: Enable Enhanced Conversions in Google Ads
- Sign in to Google Ads
- Navigate to Tools & Settings โ Conversions
- Select your conversion action
- Enable โEnhanced conversionsโ
Step 2: Configure CustomerLabs Integration
- Open CustomerLabs dashboard
- Go to Destinations โ Google Ads
- Enable Enhanced Conversions toggle
- Select conversion events to enhance
Step 3: Map Customer Data Fields
Map first-party data fields to Googleโs required parameters:
- Email โ hashed email address
- Phone โ normalized phone number
- First Name โ lowercase first name
- Last Name โ lowercase last name
- Address โ normalized address fields
Step 4: Test Enhanced Conversions
- Complete a test conversion on your website
- Check Google Ads conversion tracking tag
- Verify enhanced conversion data is being sent
- Wait 48 hours for data to appear in Google Ads
Step 5: Optimize Bidding Strategy
With Enhanced Conversions active:
- Switch to value-based bidding (Target ROAS or Max Conversion Value)
- Let campaigns learn for 2-3 weeks
- Monitor performance improvements
- Adjust bids based on enhanced data
