Email your cart abandoners on Klaviyo beyond 180 days. No, it isn’t a joke.

Who trusts anybody without talking numbers? So here it goes.

7/10 users abandon their carts. And, not all of them have an intention to buy, but the remaining “good dudes” can be absolutely nudged gently into becoming your loyal customers. 

But why is it not as easy as we say? Yep, it’s because there are no cookies left beyond 7 days to retarget. 

Third-party cookies can no longer be used for retargeting users. They’re dead.

Third-party cookies are no longer usable for retargeting, and now even first-party cookies are at risk. With ITP 2.3, browsers like Safari and Firefox delete first-party cookies set from different domains after 7 days, limiting attribution and retargeting efforts. This affects Facebook’s 7-day attribution and GA4’s user reports. 

However, server-side set first-party cookies can last up to a year, offering a more reliable solution.

Implement 1PD domain for your website. It allows browser cookies to be saved on the server indefinitely.  When users log in via phone number or email and abandon their cart, you can now retarget over emails / phone. Plus, all fbclid and gclid data will be collected and stored permanently in the browser cookies.

Extra dollars. Plan your campaign for the last 6 months’ users

During the BFCM or any other peak offer season, plan a 30-day email campaign for these users and run active campaigns for;

  • Cart abandoners in the last 180 days

  • Specific product-based “add to cart” users in the last 180 days

  • Upsell the users who have purchased top wear with bottom wear or 

  • Cross-sell for the user who bought mattresses with the accessories like pillow case etc or 

  • Segment based on demographics or UTMs etc to run specific coupon code campaign 

Catch them when they are hot and warm

Create an audience of the users who abandoned their cart in the last 7 days with an easy nudge. 

Buy before the coupon expires

Run these campaigns on Klaviyo and Limechat for WhatsApp to reach your audience promptly.
